BRAD WILBY MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

Promoting cardiac awareness and providing accessible
AEDs in our local communities.

MISSION STATEMENT

Brad Wilby lived his life demonstrating passion for sport and compassion for others. An athlete his entire life, he died suddenly at age 25 from an undiagnosed and little-understood condition to which teenagers and young adults are particularly vulnerable. The condition, Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy, is commonly known as ARVC.

The mission of this foundation is to promote awareness of ARVC and sudden cardiac arrest, to provide accessible AEDs for local facilities, and to provide scholarships to graduating high school seniors.

WHAT IS ARVD?

Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Dysplasia (ARVD) is a rare form of cardiomyopathy in which the heart muscle of the right ventricle (RV) is replaced by fat and/or fibrous tissue. The right ventricle is dilated and contracts poorly. As a result, the ability of the heart to pump blood is usually weakened.
